Conjunction of the Stars: Lennon and McCartney

Paul McCartney and John Lennon met shortly after 4 pm on July 6, 1957. Lennon was 16, and Paul had just turned 15. John was playing in a band at a village fete and Paul came along with a friend to hear him and meet him. The rapport was instant (Paul played the guitar for John) and shortly after the fete John sent a friend to ask Paul if he wanted to join the band.
The chart for the meeting is a lively one. There is a Venus Mars Uranus conjunction in Leo all square to the Moon in Scorpio. The stellium in Leo falls on Paul's Mars Pluto in Leo in the 11th house of friends and groups. At the same time the Leo stellium is conjunct John's Pluto Chiron the 5th and oppose his Moon in Aquarius in the 11th. z
Jupiter is at 25 Virgo on Paul's Ascendant Neptune.. Jupiter is conjunct John's Neptune and trine his Uranus in Taurus in the first house. Jupiter Uranus is one of my favorite aspects.
Both men have Moon Chiron aspects in their charts.
Moon is the mother/emotions/women and Chiron is the wounded healer. Paul had lost his mother 8 months prior to the meeting. John would soon lose his mother. Paul is a Gemini (the classic for writing) and John was a Libra, so their Sun signs were in trine. John has Mars at 2 Libra and Paul has Mars at 2 Leo. Mars sextile Mars means working in sync.
Paul and John were not only creative partners, but best friends who truly loved each other. The musical writing partnership was unusual in that they decided to label all songs as Lennon-McCartney.
Astrology offers ways to analyze a relationship between two partners. This is known as synastry. The word synastry comes from the Greek word synastria, which means conjunction of the stars.
The simplest is to compare the aspects between the two charts. The inner planets and the angles are the most important. I have written about this topic elsewhere on this blog. See Arroyo's Relationships and Life Cycles for more on this.
You can also create an independent chart that defines the relationship. There are two ways to do this. The composite chart and the relationship chart. Ronald Davidson pioneered the relationship chart, which is the point in time and space between two charts. He has a book called Synastry.
The composite chart (championed by John Townley) is simply a chart showing the midpoints between the two charts.
I ran both charts for John and Paul and the composite chart really seemed to be the one that spoke to their relationship and what they created. Venus in Cancer on the Ascendant speaks to the beauty they created with their music. It also seems to reflect how these two motherless teens nurtured each other throughout their years together. Venus is trine the Moon in Scorpio in the 5th house of creativity. So much creativity! Juno (the asteroid of partnership) is conjunct the North Node and Neptune, which rules music.
The Sun is conjunct Mercury in Leo. They were stars together. Mars in the composite chart is conjunct John's Venus, and the Neptune Node Juno conjunction in Virgo (craft) is on Paul's ascendant. If there is a strong relationship, the composite chart has significant contacts with the natal charts of the partners. The moon in the composite chart is conjunct John's Mercury in the 7th house.
What makes the composite chart seem magical is how closely it resembles the first meeting chart. The Moon is on the Ascendant in Scorpio (within a degree to composite moon) trine the Sun in Cancer. Jupiter in the meeting chart matches the Juno Neptune Node in the composite chart.
