Serena Williams

Serena Williams recently announced in a Vogue article that she is leaving tennis to pursue other interests, including a sibling for her daughter Olympia. For those not in the know, she has won 23 grand slam titles and is reported to be the highest earning female athlete of all time. A nice summary of her career is also in the September Vogue.

Serena's chart, like her tennis playing, is exceptional. Her chart is in a bundle pattern, all within a trine of Mars in Leo in the 5th house to Neptune in Sagittarius in the 9th. Mars Neptune aspects can give great athletic ability. In fire signs here, it makes that ability even more pronounced.

But one does not achieve great heights with simply a trine. Serena's Mars is in a close square to Venus in Scorpio in the 7th house. Scorpio is a very competitive and determined sign. Squares make you work hard for what you achieve, and that is Serena's story, as shown in the film King Richard, which is about the work ethic instilled by her father.

Serena is a Libra, and also a fashion icon. The Sun Saturn in Libra emphasizes the hard work aspect of her chart. She has a stellium in Libra in the 6th house, the house of work, and also Moon in Virgo in the 6th, making her a perfectionist.

Serena started a Venture Capital firm, and is also a philanthropist, so she will still have plenty of work to go along with the 6th house focus of her chart.

Another interesting aspect in the chart is Black Moon Lilith conjunct Uranus in the 7th house. Lilith is known for female empowerment. This quote from the New York Times seems apt for someone with Black Moon Lilith conjunct Uranus:

Williams became the personification of athletic greatness-for at least two decades-carried the aspirations of gender and racial equity. Along the way, she showed the world the incredible power of breaking boundaries and obliterating norms. ....Williams does what she wants, when she wants, in the way she wants.

As for when the much desired sibling for Olympia might appear, Serena has progressed Ascendant going into Cancer (the nurturing sign) on Feb. 5, 2024. Also that spring Serena has progressed Venus trine Ascendant (April) and Progressed Sun conjunct Venus. Getting your heart's desire. The Progressed Moon also goes into Aries April 29, 2024, starting an entirely new phase.
